The Howells-Clarkson FCCLA Chapter was recently presented two awards from Keep Nebraska Beautiful. The chapter was the 2010 winner of the First Place Secondary Youth Group/School Award and the Second Place 2010 School Recycling Award. The chapter received the first award for recycling paper in the school, picking up trash for the Adopt-A-Highway project and Litter Free School Zone project, and providing red flower plants for their adopted grandparents for the Grow Big Red project. The chapter received the school recycling award for collecting over 4,500 lbs. of paper during the 2009-2010 school year. This paper was placed in the Green Fiber recycling trailer and helped raise funds for the Howells Swimming Pool. Shown with the award are the senior FCCLA members from Howells.
