Each year in the U.S., car crashes take the lives of more than 4,000 young people. To raise awareness of this critical issue, National Organizations for Youth Safety (NOYS) teamed up with the The Allstate Foundation to award to the Howells FCCLA members for excellence in bringing safe teen driving information tot he area.
The chapter joins 49 other youth organizations and communities across the nation, sharing in the funding. The Howells chapter earned the $1000 award for their 2008-2009 projects promoting safe teen driving, including seat belt checks and safety programs.
