Howells-Dodge FCCLA Chapter Earns Honors at State Leadership Conference

Fifty-eight members of the Howells-Dodge FCCLA Chapter participated in the State FCCLA Leadership Conference in Lincoln on April 7-8. "Swing to Success" was the theme for this year's conference held at the Cornhusker Hotel and Pershing Auditorium.
The Howells-Dodge Chapter had forty students competing the the State STAR Events and receiving the following medals: Bronze Medals:
Sr. Parli Pro - Keith Cech, Bryan Mejstrik, Tyler Faltys, Zac Boysen, Dustin Sindelar, Mitch Tomka, Clint Belina, Brian Prusa; Jr. Career Investigation - Adam Vogel; and Jr. National Programs in Action - Megan Svitak and Lauren Harlan. Silver Medals: Sr. Chapter Service - Josie Poulsen, Jennifer Vernoy, Jessica Schueth; Sr. Financial Planning - Devin Harlan, Jr. Focus on Children - Brook Brester, Ashley Bazata, Katee Rocheford; Sr. Health and Wellness - Kelly Pieper, Kim Meiergerd and Tessa Harms; Gold Medals: Sr. Chapter Showcase - Heather Kampschnieder, Carly Hegemann, Kourtney Janata; Sr. Family Challenges and Issues - Austin Coufal, Derek Brester; Jr. Family Challenges and Issues - Tyler Brester, Sam Schlautman, Dillon Dostal; Sr. Applied Technology - Jackie Cech, Cassy Cech. State Runners-Up: Sr. National Programs In Action - Britney Konicek, Nicole Ortmeier,Rachel Tichota; Jr. Applied Technology - Cori Renner, Emily Chebuhar,Janessa Evert. State Champions who will represent Nebraska At Nationals in July in Orlando, FL: Sr. Focus on Children - Nikki Dannelly, Jessica Kampschnieder and Courtney Ruskamp.

Mindi Schlautman was a finalist for the State Financial Fitness Team
State Power of One Award Winners are: Megan Chebuhar, Brenna Wragge, Nicole Bayer, Jessica Bartling, Chelsea Krepel, Sidney Blum, Tara Hegemann, Chelsey Cech, Carmen Pieper, Sara Dostal, Brittny Sellhorst, Dianna Dostal, Tiffany Brester, Ryan Dirkschnieder, Tara Indra, Amanda Tomka, and Christie Zrust.
The Howells-Dodge Chapter was the District #5 winner of the "Share,
Care, and Be Aware" chapter competition. The chapter also received the Gold Star Chapter, the highest award given to chapters in Nebraska.
