Dodgeball Derby
They dodged, they dipped, and they dove their way to the championships!

With the 3rd annual Howells Dodgeball Derby in the books, the elementary staff would like to send a big thank you to all the teams and helpers of the tournament. We had 23 total teams entered in the competition with seven junior high, and 15 adult-competitive teams. This was the biggest turnout in the three years of the tournament.
In the Junior High division it was the Rookies that took home the championship over the Kissables. The winning team consisted of Matthew Gooch, Nathan Bazata, Brady Brester, Jarrod Bazata, Haley Kampschnieder, Kate Nelson, and Amber Ernesti. The 2nd place team was made up of Jake Brune, Shane Titus, Cody Wisnieski, Maddison Novicki, Anna Grovijohn, Heather Muller, and Allison Rolf. Congratulations to both teams.
The Competitive Division was just that, competitive. There were 15 teams that battled throughout the day but in the end there was two: The Screamin' Norwegians and Chuck Norris. The championship went to the Screamin' Norwegians in the best of 5 series. They consisted of Bryan Mejstrik, Tyler Faltys, Steve Marik, Chelsey Cech, Mindi Schlautman, Carmen Pieper, and Kelsey Pokorny. The runners up, Chuck Norris, consisted of Keith Cech, Kyle Brandyberry, Micky Schumacher, Chris Bartling, Rachel Tichota, Nicole Ortmeier, Amanda Tomka, and Britney Konicek.
This year we also awarded a few extra prizes. Awards went to the teams who displayed the best sporstmanship, had the best team name, and best uniforms. The award for Sportsmanship in the junior high division went to The Kissables. The competitive division Sporstmanship award went to Chuck Norris. We then chose an overall best team name and best uniform. Best team name went to Staff Infection of Howells and best uniform went to The Killer Beez of Clarkson.
Once again thank you to all participants and helpers in making this the biggest and best tournament we've ever had. Hope to see everyone again next year.
