Howells-Dodge FCCLA Meets March 4
2008-2009 Officers Are Elected

The Howells-Dodge FCCLA chapter met on March 4 at 7:00 p.m. at Howells High School. President Britney Konicek called the meeting to order following the opening ceremony. The minutes of the last meeting were read by Amanda Tomka, secretary. The treasurer's report was given by Nicole Ortmeier.
Items of old business included thanking FCCLA members for their help in making FCCLA Week a success, congratulating Mindi Schlautman for being selected a finalist for the State Financial Fitness Team, and announcing that sixteen members completed State Power of One Awards and posters. At the State Peer Ed. Meeting in Kearney our chapter won the 1st Place Financial Fitness Award and Amanda Tomka received the State FCCLA Student Body Scholarship. Our chapter also had the greatest number of hours with the elderly.
State FCCLA Leadership Conference is April 7-8 in Lincoln. Members are reminded to work on getting STAR Events ready for state competition. State Leadership Conference T-shirts are available and need to be ordered by March 5.

The FFA/FCCLA Banquet is Monday, April 21 at 6:30 p.m. Seniors will be in charge of planning the banquet.
Door prizes were awarded by Ryan Dirkschneider, Recreation Chairperson, to Courtney Ruskamp, Ashley Bazata, Carly Hegemann and Heather Kampschnieder. Lunch was served by the Dodge members.
