Aloha! Palm trees, leis and surfboards were all around the elementary on Monday, March 3rd as the students celebrated Read Across America Day. The Dodge Elementary was also in attendance to see their principal Mrs. Novicki do the limbo along with Mr. Martin.
The Howells Elementary hosted the Read Across America event this year. Last year we traveled over to Dodge for the celebration. All K-6th grade students have been corresponding over the past month in preparation for the event.
The students participated in an afternoon of fun activities that brought warm weather and sunshine inside. The K-6th students were challenged with a trivia game that made the principals get low with the limbo.
Later that afternoon, students from each grade had a chance to chat with the students from Dodge, play games, listen to stories and create their own surfboards. All of this was to commemorate the birthday of Dr. Seuss.
